Biography
Praised for excellence in writing throughout his early education, it was not until later in life that Ryan discovered his talent in more visual mediums. Having graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography, he is equipped with the tools to tell stories through any means necessary.
Spanning widely from traditional photojournalism to documentary video to web design, his range is broad in diversity yet focused in purpose to voice the truth however loud need be, multimedia, cross-platform and cross-culture.
Growing up in Southern California, Ryan has seen the lifestyles of affluent communities. Consumed by curiosity of the hardships of a life he has never known, he seeks earnestly to give a voice to the voiceless and in turn, a hope for the hopeless. Surpassing the desires of his career, it is in the knowledge of these hardships that his heart has been brought from ignorance and beats restless in conviction.
As a result he is the founder of Getting Word Out a non-profit organization dedicated to the encouragement and support of other non-profits that are actively making efforts to end social injustice in the arenas of discrimination, poverty, violence and addiction. Only a recent resident to New York, Ryan is currently pursuing independent documentary projects.
