Yes We Can

In the predominantly Black community of Bushwick, Brooklyn at Broadway and Halsey, the Tuesday November 4, 2008 ground-breaking election brought a celebration to the streets with the announcement of president-elect, Barack Obama. For the first time in the United States, an African-American has risen to the presidency, in many ways crowning the achievements of Black progress. Obama has been recognized for the strength in his campaign to inspire the youth, a demographic usually apathetic and complacent to the voting process. These factors, among many, all contributed to the evening energy of rejoicing enthusiastic Obama supporters.
